We've chosen a black background as the color for our deep brood box foundations because it makes it easier for you to inspect your hive's white brood eggs against the dark background.

The foundations have been coated in 100% all-natural beeswax so that bees will quickly and evenly form comb. Without a waxed foundation, bees are prone to producing spotty comb.

Each frame and foundation has been cut using industry-standard measurements to ensure compatibility. They will fit both 8 and 10 frame Langstroth hives.
